This is my first blog post. (Crikey, never thought I would write that!)
I’m a keen hillwalker(/wannabe mountaineer) and enthusiastic home-cook.
I was born in the south of England, raised in Yorkshire and still live ‘up norf’ with my wife and kids. I spend much of my spare time plodding around the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, taking pictures and thinking about my next meal.
I have climbed the national three peaks (Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike), the top 10 mountains in England and the Yorkshire Three Peaks several times. I have also been fortunate enough to have trekked in the Himalayas up to an altitude of 5,400 metres.
My Mum was a brilliant cook and this inspired me to cook; consequently food has always been a big part of my family life. I love cooking good, honest and simple food; putting my own take on family classics.
I’m not a professional cook, nor a professional mountaineer or photographer, as you will no doubt find out!
I hope you enjoy my ramblings!
